Rise of streaming in MENA
Digital music streaming in the MENA region is in its infancy and has experienced almost none of the problems US and Europe have faced. All the main streaming services & major labels now exist in the region. The youthful population & high smartphone penetration all points to a burgeoning business in the future. Although digital streaming culture is still maturing in MENA where – increased competition and exceedingly large untapped markets due to lack of awareness are pushing streaming services and labels to get creative with their deals with major artists and their initiatives to develop local talent with authentic successful backstories.
