Daniela is a Cultural Industries expert and provides consulting services to composers, artists and digital media startups. She possesses a deep and global expertise in entertainment content and intellectual property rights, as well as a successful track record in rescuing and restructuring firms in difficulty. She has established and lead successful teams, and has an extensive network or relationships. Through her staunch defense of rights and her institutional relations and political lobbying activism, she has earned the respect of leaders in the creative and cultural communities.
From January 2014 through September 2017, Daniela Bosé was Managing Director for BMG for Spain and Portugal. She lead several music catalogue acquisitions and exclusive songwriter agreements, including Pablo Alborán, Miguel Bosé, Marta Botia, David Summers, Macaco, Nacho Cano/Mecano and Darlalata (Antonio Orozco, Maldita Nerea, Efecto Pasillo, Funambulista, etc.). In 2016, she successfully acquired the music publishing catalogues of Prisa group (including Macarena/Los del Rio and many #1 songs from the 80s and 90s). She also developed the successful CD+DVD deluxe release of Mecano with El País (Spain’s leading newspaper).
Before BMG, Daniela was Director of Business Development and Rights for Sony Music Entertainment managing live rights, publishing, sponsorship, synchronizations and exploitation of Sony’s music content.
In 2009 she was tapped Spain’s Minister of Culture to be part of her team as Deputy Director of Culture Cabinet. During her tenure at the Ministry, Daniela actively participated in defending Spain’s intellectual property laws, contributing to the approval of the Phonographic Copyright Extension, writing the antipiracy text for the “Sinde Law” and working on the creation a National Prize for Modern Music.
Daniela started her extensive career in music publishing as Administration Manager of Royalties and Copyrights for BMG Ariola, and enjoyed numerous successes over an 11-year period as Managing Director, Spain and Portugal for Universal Music Publishing.
Daniela has a degree in Economic and Business Administration from Madrid’s Complutense University. Since 1998, she has taught “master classes” in intellectual property, music industry, management of contents and entertainment law at several top local universities.
Quoted in several publications, recently on “Woman Professional Development Guide” and “Top 500 Influential Women of Spain”. As a champion for diversity and women’s rights she has conceived and directed the documentary “Mujeres de la Música” (Women of Music) that enjoyed excellent local reviews and international coverage on Billboard.
Daniela has been Vice President for SGAE (Spain’s collection society), Member of the Board of Directors, Member of the Board of Publishers and Trustee of the SGAE Foundation.
