Alex Ianev is Senior Manager of Digital and New Business at Universal Music Publishing a leading global music publisher with 43 offices in 36 countries. UMPG represents music in every genre from some of the world’s most important songwriters and catalogs. Amongst others these include ABBA, Adele, Beach Boys, Beastie Boys, Irving Berlin, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey, The Clash and Coldplay.

Alex joined the music industry in 2002 working for BMG Records before moving to BMG Music Publishing and has been working for Universal Music Publishing for the last 8 years.  At UMPG the initial focus was on business development dominated by brands partnerships but as more and more innovation shifted to digital start-ups  the role expanded to cover digital licensing. In his current role Alex is working with UMPI’s Licensing hubs in Europe, Australia/Asia, LATAM and the Middle East to offer licensing solution to major DSPs such as Spotify, Google, Amazon and Apple. The teams also support ecosystem of music start-ups with a large volume of bespoke licenses tailored to accommodate new ways to use the company’s content.
